Shelby Reed Since 2004, Shelby Reed has exclusively represented victims of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. Shelby has taken an active interest in developing liability cases against manufacturers of asbestos-containing products establishing what such manufacturers knew about the dangers of asbestos or should have known. For the first ten (10) years of Shelby’s professional career, he practiced public school and governmental law representing some of the fastest growing school districts in the state of Texas. In addition to representing mesothelioma victims, Shelby’s areas of practice have included, but were not limited to, business and commercial transactions, trial and appellate practice and personnel and employment matters. Shelby is a native of Texas, but currently resides in Maryville, Illinois. Notable Decisions: Co-authored brief and successfully represented the Allen ISD Board of Trustees in Outman v. Allen ISD Board of Trustees, No. 05-97-01112-CV, 1999 WL 817694, 199 Tex.App. LEXIS 7691 (Tex.App.--Dallas Oct. 14, 1999, no pet.)(unpublished opinion). Authored brief and successfully represented the DeSoto Independent School District in Wright Commercial Contracting, Inc. v. DeSoto Independent School Dist., 2000 WL 378523 (Tex.App.-Dallas) (Tex.App.-Dallas, 2000). Co-authored brief and successfully represented the Denton Central Appraisal District in Denton Central Appraisal Dist. v. CIT Leasing Corp., 115 S.W.3d 261 (Tex.
